How to disable validating identity on wireless network
Im on the D-Link DIR-655Wireless Router and im using XP PRO SP2 if that helps.
So basically, I keep getting an error when i try to connect to my own network "VALIDATING IDENTITY Windows was unable to find a certificant to log you on to the the network" I entered the correct network key that was setup with the router and im really frustrated because i tried everything in the options and nothing works.
A fundamental component of RADIUS is a client's validation of the RADIUS server's identity.
This is accomplished by hosting a certificate on the RADIUS server that has been validated by a trusted Certificate Authority (CA).
If your network is Encrypted go on to step 6 otherwise Click ok and try to connect to your network again.
In this window make sure you are in the "Association" tab.
If a self-signed certificate (or any certificate from an untrusted CA) is in use, most clients will reject the connection since they cannot validate the server's identity.
= If the eduroam network does not show up, click on Refresh network list.If your computer can connect to your network via the wire...then I'd troubleshoot the wireless by doing the following: 1) Make sure that the MAC address of the wireless NIC card is in the "accepted" list on the router.By default, 802.1X authentication on Window 8.1/10 consists of not only client authentication, but also server authentication, which requires the server (here is the Vigor AP) to provide certificate information to the client. However, if the model or the firmware version does not support Certificate Configuration yet, we may set up the Windows client not to verify the server's identity, and still do 802.1X authentication with Vigor Router or Vigor AP.
